The project relies on a public-private partnership with 4 Danish University partners, 6 foreign universities and 15 private companies.

The overall aim of the project is to develop drainage filters systems to trap nutrients before they end up in inland and coastal waters. In this part of the project the objective is to perform a technical, environmental and economic analysis of new drainage and filter technologies to mitigate phosphor and nitrogen loss at the farm level. The cost effectiveness will be analysed and modelled for new systems, and compared with conventional systems. To assess the technical performance of the new drainage systems it is expected to involve farmers and other relevant stakeholders in the empirical analysis.
