Eligibility:
- Applicants should have, or be working towards, a PhD in biochemistry or chemistry and relevant post-graduate research experience in biological chemistry or related area.
-Interest and/or experience in redox enzymes, protein conjugation and electrochemistry.
-Expertise in protein purification, molecular biology, protein modification, enzyme kinetics and electrochemistry desired
-Ability to communicate complex information clearly, both orally and in writing.

Scholarship Description: A postdoctoral fellowship is available for an outstanding and ambitious biological chemist to undertake research in the group of Dr Simon Daff at the School of Chemistry, University of Edinburgh. The project is concerned with the design and synthesis of bio-nanowires from multiheme cytochromes. The position will be available from September 2011, for 16 months.
The Daff research group is concerned with the study of redox enzymes and their redesign. Current areas of activity include the chemical and regulation mechanisms nitric oxide synthase, biological electron transfer, enzyme kinetics and electrochemistry.
